Terms
Terms of use
These cover this website and the AI chat on it. Real client work runs on a separate agreement we both sign — nothing here replaces it.
Effective 1 August 2026
What these terms cover
This is the marketing site for CORTEX, a software studio run by Israel Waks and Berel Green, based in Florida, USA. By using the site you accept what is on this page. If you don't accept it, please don't use the site.
These are website terms only. If you hire us, everything that actually matters about the work — scope, price, timeline, ownership of what we build, support, and confidentiality — is governed by a separate written agreement signed by both sides. Where that agreement and this page disagree about the work, the signed agreement wins.
Using the site
Use it for what it is for: seeing what we do, and telling us about your business. Please don't:
- attack, overload, or probe the site, scrape it at volume, or work around the rate limits on the chat;
- send anything unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or infringing through it;
- impersonate someone else, or submit another person's contact details without their say-so;
- paste in confidential material you are not free to share — the chat is an opening conversation, not a secure channel.
If any of that happens we may rate-limit or block access. There is no account to lose; it simply stops working.
The intake chat
The Bottleneck Session is an AI assistant built on Anthropic's Claude. Four things worth knowing:
- Its replies are generated by a language model. They can be wrong, incomplete, or confidently off. Treat them as the start of a conversation with us, not a finished answer.
- Nothing it says is a quote, a proposal, an offer, or a promise to build anything, at any price, by any date. Only a written agreement signed by CORTEX creates an obligation.
- It is not professional advice — not legal, financial, tax, medical, security, or engineering advice. Don't make a decision that matters on the strength of it alone.
- Don't put passwords, card numbers, ID numbers, or other people's personal data into it. What happens to what you do type is set out in our privacy policy.
Prices and estimates
The quote estimator on this site produces a ballpark, generated from a handful of options you click before we know anything real about your project. It is illustrative only: non-binding, subject to change, and not an offer that can be accepted. Real numbers come after we talk, in writing.
Every figure it shows is a range in US dollars, and it does not model taxes or third-party running costs such as domains, hosting, phone numbers, or AI usage. Anything binding on price will be in the signed agreement, not here.
Demos and outside links
The demos page runs real things — a chat bot, a recorded call, and a live client site loaded inside a frame. That client site is theirs, served from their own address, and we don't control what it shows at any given moment or how it behaves. The same goes for any other link we point you at: we link because it is useful, not because we vouch for it or take responsibility for what is on the other side.
Demo conversations and recorded call audio are illustrations of the kind of thing we build. They are not a promise that a build for you will behave identically.
Our content
The site — its code, design, copy, layout, illustrations, and the CORTEX name and logo — belongs to us or to whoever licensed it to us. You are welcome to read it, link to it, and share it. You may not copy it wholesale, resell it, pass it off as your own, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you. Client names, logos, and work shown here belong to those clients and appear with their permission.
What you type stays yours. Sending it to us gives us permission to read it, act on it, and follow up with you about it — nothing more.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is and as it happens to be available. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that everything on it is accurate or current. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We may change, pause, or take down any part of the site at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost business, or lost data, arising out of your use of this site or of anything the chat or the estimator told you.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
This section is about the website. Liability for work we are actually engaged to do is dealt with in the signed agreement for that work.
Governing law
These website terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Which law governs a project we take on, and which courts settle any dispute about it, is dealt with in the signed agreement for that work rather than on this page. Using this site doesn't change the law that already applies where you are, and nothing here removes any mandatory consumer or statutory rights you have where you live.
Changes to these terms
We update this page as the site changes, and the date at the top moves when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version; if you don't, stop using the site.
